Notes from the Himalayas
I choose not to define myself by my profession or the degrees I’ve earned. Instead, I’d rather tell you who I am and what I hope to do with my life. My ambition is simple: I want to write children's books that show a deep love for nature, with brave, curious, and resilient characters who act with kindness and empathy.
Growing up in Kodaikanal, my home was filled with the wonder and magic of nature. It felt like living on an island high in the clouds, where the green grass stretched endlessly and mist and clouds drifted by like familiar companions. My stories bring that world to life—not just to celebrate its beauty, but to explore the intricate relationships between humans, plants, and animals. In my books, all the characters—whether human, plant, or animal—are kind and resilient. They have a voice, they have agency, and they stand for what’s right.
Through my work, I want the world to know more about the Western Ghats, not only as a breathtaking landscape but as a rare and precious ecosystem that deserves to be protected. I hope to inspire others to see nature with fresh eyes, and to embrace their own role in preserving it.
