Glendale Academy
When I stepped into Glendale Academy for a storytelling session with grades four and five, I was instantly met with an infectious energy. The students were very excited to listen to The Soan Papdi Man from my book The Postwoman and Other Stories. I had a feeling this would be the perfect story for them, and I was absolutely right!
The students loved it. They especially enjoyed the moment when I asked them to close their eyes and imagine how Soan Papdi would feel as it melts in one's mouth. They were also intrigued by the mystery of the Soan Papdi Man’s disappearance and eagerly guessed where he could have gone.
I truly enjoyed my session at Glendale because it left me with a deep sense of purpose. I realized just how much children crave storytelling sessions, spaces where they can be themselves, let their imaginations run wild and take a break from academics, even if just for a little while.
